Imperial Red & Gold with an Ode to Dragons
My blood is too hot. No heat can escape so it implodes on itself. It sets fires inside me like dragons stretching their lungs with their dark, molten breath. Its the golden edge of life sinking slowly beneath the mantle of my crusty exterior. This is a self-portrait of the hidden dragons that live inside me. An Ode to Dali inside as well.
Baby Picture #1
When I am too numbed by the pain of life I create art to remind myself that there is still some good in me.
The struggle to regain one's humanity after the death of a loved one is never easy.
Emerald Life of a Butterfly, and an Ode to Venus
This piece comes from the idea that gentleness is a powerful creative strength.
In order to initiate an artwork, the pivotal catalyst is always a gentle relaxing of the chains around my heart so that I can be free to express who I am and leave you with a gift from my heart.

Artist Statement
I am largely self-taught, and I am most strongly influenced by ancient design and artwork, such
as Celtic knotwork, and Asian and Arabic styles of calligraphy. I love to play with negative space, and
so I love the contrast between light and dark. My artwork has now progressed into the world of color,
and I feel that it brings a new depth to my illuminations. This is the style of Anima Mundi, translated,
the soul of the world. What this style allows me to express is the tangible link between myself, in this
physical reality, and the soul of the world. My pieces are snapshots of this ever-changing, ever-shifting,
luminous cord that weaves us together.
About the artworks:
These artworks were created with calligraphy ink, metallic gel pen, and acid-free paper. All pieces are 24”x30” Be sure to visit Corrin's website to see more.
