Charles Peck
My bio differs greatly from what I see most artists use in that I have not kept a list of the places I've been, the work I've sold over the years, or the places I've sold it from. I spent most of my youth and that fuzzy area after youth before grey hair (and turning 60) traveling around North and South America.
I have lived mostly off commissions. I have left copious amounts behind when it was time to check out new places, never worrying about it as I could always make more and it surely would be better next time anyway.
Somewhere in my 50's a rather well known realist suggested I pick a place and stay for a while so that word of mouth could build. I did and as it turns out he knew what he was talking about. I know I should pay more attention to business but word of mouth commissons keep me fed and in paint if not other sweet nothings.
I have been drawing since I was 3 is what I was told. I do not remember that but then neither do I have any memory of not drawing and painting. Mostly I just draw and paint, read, sail, play chess, and keep regular attendance at the Theater of the Absurd.
Visit Charles' Gallery to see more of his work.
