Psalm 51 is one of the penitential psalms that King David set to music. All psalms ( tehillim) praised the Lord. They have remained popular readings throughout the ages because King David's themes were universal. He expressed the burden of humanity in his sacred testimonies. Psalm 51 is one of the most famous psalms speaking of repentence and recovery. Verse 13 is part of the Selichot service: "Cast me not away from Your Presence, and take not Your Holy Spirit from me." Verse 17 is sung before the recitation of the Amidah: "O Lord, open up my lips, that my mouth may declare Your Praise." Verse 20 is said before the reading of the Torah: "Do good in your favor unto Zion; Build the walls of Jerusalem." This image is an expression of the desire, through authentic intention ( kavanah) to have one's words of praise reach Adonai. The contrast of going inward to find that authentic place is offset by the outward thrust of those words. The prayer shawl ( tallit) with it's specified knottings and wrappings, represent the act of internal element of this process. the explosion of red, highlights the power of Hallelujah. Further allusions are hidden in this painting referencing the popular song entitled " Hallelujah." As the lyrics suggest, David had a secret chord of music notes used to praise G-d. The progression of these chords was the basis for the the design composition
EXPRESSION OF CHANUKAH....NES GADOL....A GREAT MIRACLE HAPPENED THERE...WITH THE EMPHASIS ON THE CHANUKIAH...THE 9 CANDELABRA USED ON CHNUKAH. THE SILVER ORB REPRESENTS THE GREAT MIRACLE, NOT ONLY OF ONE DAY OF OIL LASTING FOR EIGHT, BUT THE MIRACLE OF A TINY GROUP OF MEN..MACCABIAHS, WHO FOUGHT OFF THEIR ENEMIES AND WON. THE MENORAH IS THE SYMBOL OF JUDAISM.
WIP of the story of the binding of isaac by abraham, his tenth and last tril. the orbs on the left show the first nine trials and the influence of god ( red) in them. the last and most difficult trial of binding his son for sacrifice is shown in the tyings of the largered orb. in the center, there is a black column which represents the moment between the angels calling abrham's name twice..in that moment he went from having blind faith in god, to having perfect faith. the right side shows abrahm's perfect faith, as exemplfied by the silver orb, perfectly round and aglow....it floats up from the ram's horn shape , representing the ram, used insead of isac for the sacrifice.
