NEW Cornell album - Timbaland RnB dub - due Sep 08
July 22nd 2008 18:18
Here are some preview snippets from the upcoming Chris Cornell album, due for release in September 2008. Cornell is collaborating with RnB producer Timbaland for a fresh new sound.
A friendly YouTube user has sliced the preview snippets of the new songs together in a slideshow.
The songs in order are:
Watch Out
Long Gone
Ground Zero
Part Of Me
The album has not yet been completed or titled.
This musical style may seem a bit out of left field for fans accustomed to the hits of Audioslave or post 1994 Soundgarden hits, but Chris' interest in dub and sound layering has existed from Soundgardens 80s origins . . . does anyone remember Fopp?
From the 1988 EP of the same name, i give you Fopp:

im a die-hard Cornell fan and even i was surprised by the move . . . the first song has a bit of a Justin Timberlake or Nelly Furtado vibe to it . . . ill be the first one lined up at the CD store to buy it, but it is definately a huge departure from the stadium rock that he is most famous for!
thanks for the comment!
