Artist Quirk - quirky facts about the arts by Morgan Bell

Zoom In - Most Beautiful Female Faces

October 9th 2008 06:18
This is a collection of photos of the faces of female celebrities I think are beautiful. Ive tried to select fairly natural and forward looking pics to get a close-up look at their faces without too much make-up and airbrushing.

I regularly see lists of "The Worlds Sexiest Women" and they seem to be more like a list of women with the least clothes on . . .

So im zooming in close and cutting their bodies off!

Now we can clearly see how beautiful their faces are without the distraction of their perky chests, slender legs, flat stomaches, glossy skin, extended hair, or smooth inner thigh (which seems to be the focus on so many glamour photo shoots these days)

I might call this collection The Worlds Most Beautiful Female Faces!

Yea, I've always thought that Alyssa Milano has a nice look -- with or without makeup, she always looks good. Diane Lane's a great one too.

hi Lara,
thanks for the comment!
Alyssa Milano is improving with age, she has the most amazing eyes too!
ah and i see we have another fan od Diane Lane . . . someone should tell the movie producers how popular she is!

Allysa Milano looks good without much make-up. Some of the pictures too seem to have captured actresses at their most 'natural'?

It's interesting to see all the eye bags and crow feet.... hhmmm

I'm glad the HALLE post inspired you to show women more realistically.

Diane Lane and I are almost the same age and I remember when I was a teenager she was a Dolly covergirl and I just thought she was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I still think she is amazingly beautiful.

Who is Tabu? She is a knockout!

Great post.

hi Cass,
ah another Alyssa Milano fan!
it was tempting to pick photos where they were all young and photoshopped but i actually think the ones where they slightly resemble real human being look far more beautiful!
i think if the hair is a bit frizzy and you can see a bit of shine on their face from oily skin it probably hasnt been touched up too much!

hi Cheryl,
its funny because nearly all of these women are known for their bodies and much of their still photography work is nude or semi-nude body shots . . . its actually fairly difficult to find "face" shots that are clear and close!
the lovely Tabu in an indian "bollywood" actress who appears in alot of critically acclaimed independant art films - CLICKHERE for my review of "The Namesake" starring Tabu - shes 37 and a very talented woman!

- Check her out in the big budget romance film with Richard Gere about to come out - Nights in Rodanthe. And she was in that serial killer film Untraceable.
I was thinking of this tonight - what about Meg Ryan & Annette Benning.

hi Jason,
hey thanks for the info, ill keep an eye out for that one!
i see her in the occassional romantic comedy, but on the whole they are badly written and unsuccessful . . . i liked her in Unfaithful and The Perfect Storm and i recently discovered her in an 80s jazz film (also with Richard Gere) called The Cotton Club CLICKHERE for pics . . . i think she is a contender for best eyebrows in the world!

Sign me up for the Diane Lane fan club! I just saw Nights in Rodanthe and it's the best thing I've seen in a LONG time! I've been a fan of her's since back in the late 80's!

I don't know who Diane Lane is, but very very cute.

The best thing about this list is I can both vehemently agree and disagree. I've got a weak spot for Jennifer Lopez.

I find Lucy Liu extremely plain, almost unattractive.

I'd add Michelle Reis, the half-Chinese, half-Portuguese actress that is widely considered one of the most beautiful in China.

I was going to ask where my pic was, but then I realised I couldn't be included as I'm not famous...

There appears to be a familiar look with most of these women ... almond eyes, wide features, large mouths. Jaime Pressly looks freakish.
In my opinion Rihanna is easily the prettiest of the selection, although Catherine Zeta Jones is classically stunning and the pic of Angela Bassett smoulders. But curiously there are several women whom I normally find very attractive, yet I find them very ordinary-looking in the pics you've chosen: Jennifer Lopez, Ashley Judd, Sharon Stone, Rosario Dawsen, Rachel McAdams.
And who is Tabu? I haven't heard of her.
If you're curious (which I know you will be) check out my own visages here

hi James.
ANOTHER Diane Lane fan! haha
youve all come out of the woodwork!
i will definately check out her new movie, i trust your opinion as a long time fan!

hi Cibbuano,
thanks for the link!
actually when i was looking for pics of Lucy Lui i noticed she is slightly cross-eyed, but i still think shes beautiful!
im glad i have at least one person i cant peddle my pro-J.Lo agenda to! haha

hi Tracy,
oh look i really wanted to slip a pic of myself in there too, i dont see why i couldnt have included you!

hi Raoul,
thanks for the link!
when i was collecting the images i was starting to see that some of them looked similar . . . Ashley Judd and Alyssa Milano could be twins in some shots!
Jaime Pressley does look insane but i still love her, i think she has a very "American" look with all those teeth and the thousand watt smile!
i dont know if it becomes apparent in the collection but im really drawn to faces with strong eyes and high eyebrows
i wonder if they are all symmetrical faces? i always read that we find symmetrical faces the most appealing but i dont know if its true?

Yep, one more for Diane Lane (I am a big fan) ..

I have to add Rihanna here (providing she ages well and doesn;t go blonde[r]) ... and on that note (partly for staying brunette), Kathryn Zeta is a beautiful looking woman in a truly classic sense of the word. Her smile can literally light up a room and I always felt she would have been better as Helen of Troy in Troy, perhaps she was just too old for the others?

A beautiful smile, eyes that fixate and a glowing outlook soooooo trumps bums, boobs and bikini's.

So many beautiful faces - it wouldn't be fair to single out one or even two - but it is a great shot you have there of Diane.

Stay well

hi Lilla,
i think i need to forward this most to Diane Lanes agent! haha
Catherine Zeta and Rihanna both have the most radiant eye colours! very captivating!
i picked my blondes as an after-thought, the darker-haired beauties came to mind first!

hi MNG,
what a fantastic statement!

A beautiful smile, eyes that fixate and a glowing outlook soooooo trumps bums, boobs and bikini's.

and heres a bit more Diane Lane for all the fans:

Well Morgan kind of inspired me to do just that Jason - I've idolised Diane since we were both teenagers - and I'm in the middle of something that starts from her childhood

...but as it all started with Morgan's post I won't step on her toes if she wants to create one and will step away as graceful as my clumsy feet allow
